Procrastinating, me?

I’ve been cooking for as long as I can remember but I only just started baking properly in 2013, after watching too many episodes of the Great British Bake-Off and feeling guilty when my lovely husband sighed that I only ever make main courses, never desserts. Since then, I’ve been trying out lots of different sweet recipes with varying degrees of success. Flushed with pride at the recent jam doughnut muffins I decided to set up this blog and try recording some of the more successful ones here.

Literature Review

When I started the blog, I shouldn’t really have had time for any of this – I worked full-time and in my ‘spare’ time I was working on a PhD in psychology. All too often, cooking appealed more than sitting and staring at the screen! But happily, it also let me take my brain off the hook for a bit and gave me to space to come up with good ideas.

I finished my thesis in March 2015, had my viva in August and now in December I’ve completed minor corrections and can finally call myself Dr Steph!

I’m planning to keep the blog going for a little while longer, not least because I hope I’ll have more time for baking now.
